Janna
[jah-nah]
I provide creative and product direction with heart (and a strategically curious brain).
I am a creative-minded leader with over 10 years of experience in advertising, design, and technology. I own well-worn hats in UX/UI design, art direction, and creative direction to launch experiences and products. The past 4+ years I have also actively held product/project management responsibilities, navigating through ambiguous new territories and planning for both short-term and multi-year innovation. Giving individuals guidance to grow while collaborating thoughtfully towards a shared vision is what I most enjoy.
I have led multi-disciplinary teams, both as a hands-on Individual Contributor (IC) and Manager, to create solutions helping end customers and global brands alike. I'm comfortable talking the tech as much as design and business strategy, and have owned the vision and roadmap for both new ideas and scaling existing products. I've also had such fun throughout. How we work matters as much as what we produce, and I take pride in showing care in both areas. I've also picked up a few awards along the way, for those who mind the shine.
Starting as a designer at Y&R in Melbourne, Australia (I still call it home), before moving to a Hispanic advertising agency in Miami (y no hablo español), right now I NYC as a Creative Director for Amazon.
Think of these as current highlights:
Theatre kid fan(atic)
All forms of theatre, I love—and see often. From Broadway (including Off, and Off-Off), to the West End, to local school productions; I’m there with the happiest of hearts (especially musicals).
Chill gamer
Forever working through my never-ending Nintendo Switch backlog (we don't talk about my Steam account).
Fearful cyclist
I like to think my healthy respect for NYC streets keeps me safe, along with my sticker-clad helmet.
Word lover
Accepting any and all book recommendations. Or podcasts. Or memes. Or even a well-written post-it.
I appreciate you spending time here today. To chat more about anything you've seen or an opportunity we could work on together, don't hesitate to drop me an email...
